Charles fought in Marseilles. He was wounded in action by a gunshot to the right shoulder.

Egypt Training: MAR 1916 - APR 1917

Charles was stationed in Egypt for war training.

Oxford Hospital - NOV 1915 - MAR 1916

Charles spent the last of his time recovering from bronchitis in an Oxford hospital. This concluded his 7 month tangle with bronchitis and he was sent to Alexandria and Ghezirah in Egypt.

Valletta Military Hospital: SEP 1915 - NOV 1915

Charles stayed here for around 2 months while he recovered from bronchitis. He was moved to a hospital in Oxford, England in November.

Gallipoli: August 1915 - September 1915

Gallipoli Peninsula  • 
Charles Ellifson arrived in Gallipoli 4 months after the big battle at ANZAC Cove on April 25th. Around 900 ANZAC soldiers were killed that day and another 2000 wounded, so spirits were low. He was only stationed there for a month, however, as he contracted Bronchitis and was transferred to a milita...
